March 8th found the Dumka Chorus commemorating its 65th anniversary with a memorable concert honoring the works of Taras Shevchenko, concluding the 200th year from his birth. This unprecedented and very successful concert performed in the Great Hall of The Cooper Union in New York included the participation of the Prometheus Male Chorus of Philadelphia, as well as four guest soloists. This concert was repeated and enhusiastically received at a packed hall of the Ukrainian Educational & Cultural Center near Philadelphia on March 15th. The DUMKA Chorus entertains over 800 Attendees of the Grand Banquet at the Waldorf Astoria
In the evening of September 25th, at a grand banquet honoring Ukraine's president, Petro Poroshenko and showing support for Ukraine, Dumka had the honor to provide the primary but brief musical program. The ballroom lit up with a variety of hand-held lights during the singing of "Ne Spy Moia Ridna Zemlia", followed by a standing ovation. DUMKA Incorporates Audience Participation in Concert @ Soyuzivka
This year Dumka performed at both of the Saturday outdoor concerts at the very well attended Ukrainian Festival. In commemorating the events of Maidan, Dumka included the song "Don't Sleep My Native Land", engaging the enthusiastic audience in singing the refrain.

We are pleased to provide you access to information about our chorus, which, under the current capable direction of maestro Vasyl Hrechynsky, has completed 65 years of continuous existence.

Our chorus consists of non-professional singers who are dedicated to the promulgation of many genres of choral music, including classical, sacred, and folk. In particular we emphasize music of Ukrainian composers.
